Ruxton Renovation

Location: Towson, Maryland

Date Completed: October 2017

Description: We renovated the kitchen in this Towson home with custom cabinetry and a 12-foot island with marble countertops. Oak newel posts, salvaged from an old church in Baltimore, were repurposed as legs for the island. We seamlessly integrated new oak cabinetry with salvaged architectural details by applying a stained and distressed finish to the new materials. This kitchen also featured historic Hungarian tile and salvaged brick as a backsplash with open shelving. We renovated the master bathroom as well, with marble tile and vintage fixtures. The standout feature in this bathroom is the shower door - we took a salvaged steel window from a warehouse and welded hinges onto it. With a fresh coat of paint and retrofitted glass panels, it's the most unique shower door we've installed.
